Craftsmanship & Maker Notes
This bunka hybrid is produced under the Nōshū Masamune name, a registered brand from the historic Mino (Seki) region of Japan. Seki has been a center of blade-making for centuries and is known today for producing highly consistent, well-ground stainless knives.
The profile is quite unique with a Santoku style tip and finger notch cut out making it especially comfortable and effective for vegetable prep, push cutting, and precise detail work. At just 90 grams, this knife feels light and agile in hand while still offering excellent board contact and control.
The stainless steel construction keeps maintenance simple and approachable, while the wa-style handle maintains a traditional Japanese balance and feel. This is a practical, everyday Japanese knife with a bit of personality.
Summary
A lightweight, versatile Japanese bunka from Masamune of Seki. Sharp, nimble, and easy to maintain, this is an excellent all-purpose knife for cooks who want Japanese performance in a clean, approachable package.
