Description:

This 170mm Nakiri, bearing the classic Kiku-Ichimonji mark, is a perfect example of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
Forged with a high-carbon steel core and soft iron cladding, it features a bold kurouchi finish, preserving the blacksmith’s forge scale and offering natural rust resistance as a patina develops.

Lightly restored by hand, the blade maintains its original character while offering a refreshed, sharp edge ready for daily use.
The lightweight 147g build and double bevel (50/50) grind make it comfortable for both right- and left-handed users, slicing cleanly through vegetables with precision and ease.

Paired with a classic wa-style octagonal handle and black buffalo horn ferrule, this knife is balanced, nimble, and packed with personality.

Care Instructions:

Hand wash and dry immediately after use.

Keep dry between uses to avoid rust formation.

Occasional oiling is recommended for long-term storage.

Honing and whetstone sharpening will maintain peak performance.

---

Notes:

Light restoration has sharpened and polished the edge while respecting the blade’s original character.

Kurouchi finish will darken and evolve over time, enhancing the natural patina and protecting the blade.

An excellent choice for serious cooks who appreciate traditional Japanese carbon steel performance.
